Description
The film, which will be shown at 7:30 p.m., is being presented by the Museum Center in conjunction with its exhibit, “Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray,” which traces Kahlo’s 10-year affair with renowned photographer Nickolas Muray.
Muray’s images of Kahlo, on display in the exhibit, reveal not only the work of a master photographer, but the passion of an extraordinary love story.
Starring Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina, the lavishly filmed “Frida” chronicles Kahlo’s often stormy relationship with her husband, famed Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. It also depicts her as a political, artistic, and sexual revolutionary whose controversial affair with Leon Trotsky thrust her into the spotlight.
The 2002 film also stars Antonio Banderas, Edward Norton, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush and Roger Rees.
The film is R-rated, and children 17 and under will not be admitted without a parent or guardian.
Admission to the screening is $8 for members of the Fullerton Museum Center and $10 for the general public.
