Shared Vision Gala & V-Awards

The Shared Visions Gala & V-Awards is the signature fundraising event for Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA, a new name for an expanded health care educational institution that includes the Southern California College of Optometry and the new School of Physician Assistant Studies with plans to start a College of Pharmacy.

A hallmark of MBKU is its reach into the community to provide eye and vision care services. MBKU actively participates in community health fairs, provides vision screenings to thousands of children in local school districts and partners with a variety of agencies to bring much-needed eye and vision care services to the underserved.

Proceeds from the event go toward supporting vision readiness for all children in Orange County. In 2013, the Gala raised more than $175,000 and hosted 270 attendees.

The V-Awards are presented to honorees for their corporate, volunteer and humanitarian support. Past recipients include Allergan, Inc., the multi-specialty health care company committed to addressing unmet medical and community needs to help people reach their life's potential; Thomas Tooma, M.D., a pioneer in the world of LASIK surgery; Natalia Olenicoff, VP of Olen Properties Corporation Commercial Division, dedicated to helping people affected by vision impairment and blindness; and Abbott Medical Optics for improving the quality of vision and life and for support of the Shared Visions Art Exhibit.
 
The event program includes a video presentation of selections from the tenth annual Shared Visions Art Exhibit, showcasing works by blind or visually impaired artists.
