Recent studies reflect the concerns of HR managers in their ability to comply with the never-ending HR, employment laws. Every year, California tops the list of states that enact new laws, and the majority of California's new laws tend to involve labor and employment regulations. Not only is the charge one of complying with the many labor and safety laws, we now add the Affordable Care Act issues.... Employers need an effective way to document and report the required data in order to ensure their organizations avoid costly fines and other penalties..This workshop will highlight many of the new regulations such as minimum wage, overtime, accurate records of hours worked for determining benefits eligibility, job classification, independent contractors, paid sick days, reimbursement for cell phone use and many more laws. Finally we will discuss the importance of updating employee/policy handbooks to reflect the new laws.Date and Time
