Pilar Tellez The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life changing event which brings people tobether to CELEBRATE the lives of those who have battled cancer, REMEMBER loved ones lost, and empower individuals and communiteis to FIGHT BACK against a disease that takes too much ! Opening ceremonies starts @ 10am where we CELEBRATE our Cancer Survivors and Caregivers - they get to walk the very first lap to kick off our event and we have special gifts for them as well. There is entertainment, food, games and fun creating a community party atmosphere thoughout the day and night. As night falls we have our REMEMBER "Luminaria" ceremony @ 9pm. The track is lined and lit w/ luminiaria bags dedicated either in Honor of or in Memory of a loved one. We camp out and walk through the night enjoying the company of so many wonderful friends and family.. on Sunday morning our FIGHT BACK Closing ceremony begins @ 9am, as we get ready to enter the "25th hour" because the fight doesnt end when we leave the event.
