Keynote Speaker
Mary Estelle Ryckman, Senior Policy Advisor, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), develops strategic policy priorities for USTR regarding the President's National Export Initiative, the President's Global Development Strategy, and USTR's initiative to expand economic opportunities for women-owned businesses. Ms. Ryckman is also a liaison with state governments and their economic development offices. In addition, she is lead negotiator on competition policy in the US-EU trade negotiations and senior representative on matters relating to USTR's role on the Board of Directors of the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Ryckman held numerous positions at USTR, including Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Trade and Development and Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Canada. She has 25 years of negotiating experience, including negotiations in the GATT/WTO, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, numerous bilateral investment treaties and the Multilateral Agreement on Investment negotiations in the OECD.
Ms. Ryckman was a commercial loan officer in Boston before joining the federal government. She received a graduate degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University and completed her undergraduate work at Princeton University.
