Fullerton Main & Branch Libraries Return to Normal Hours

With the grand opening of the addition to its main branch set for July 23, the Fullerton Public Library is looking forward to things returning to normal in its operations schedule.
            Since Jan. 3, the Main Library has offered limited services due to work on the expansion.  The Adult Services Division was moved to the Hunt Branch Library for the duration of the construction, and only the Children’s Library and passport services have been available.  Hours at the Main Library were also reduced by one day.
            With the move of the Adult Services Division to the Hunt Branch, the branch, normally open only two days a week, has been open six days a week to accommodate patrons.
            With the completion of construction, the Adult Services Division will be back at its “home base” in the Main Library, and all other services will return to normal.
            Beginning July 23, the Main Library will again be open seven days a week.   As an added bonus, it will also be open one hour later Mondays through Thursdays.  New hours for the Main Library will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
            Also beginning July 23, the Hunt Branch will return to its two-day operation schedule.  Branch hours will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays and noon-8 p.m. Thursdays.
            The $10 million expansion project added a meeting room;  a café space;  a used books store for the Friends of the Library, the proceeds of which will support the library;  and group study rooms.
            The expansion also added a teen space, and a greatly expanded Local History Room, which will provide for the preservation and care of the library’s treasure trove of vintage Fullerton photos and artifacts.
            The expansion project was made possible through redevelopment bond funds issued by the Fullerton Redevelopment Agency. These restricted funds can only be used for infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
