The Fullerton Arboretum will be holding Green Scene this year on April 14 and 15, and have several special instructors in their classroom area who will teach on a variety of special topics aimed at making you a better gardener. Here is the list of classes:

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. How to Grow Strawberries All Year Long
Julie Bawden-Davis
Learn to grow mouthwatering strawberries throughout the year. Topics covered include the best strawberry types for Southern California, planting, fertilizing and watering. The presentation includes a demonstration on planting strawberries in containers, and the resulting potted plant will be raffled off! Julie Bawden-Davis will also sign her book, The Strawberry Story: How to Grow Great Berries in Southern California.
Steve Gerischer
This is a quick guide aimed at the home gardener who wants to make the most of our sparse rainfall in Southern California. Redirecting rain/rain catchment and do-it-yourself permeable hardscaping will be touched on.
Don Knipp
Learn how to get your lawn that desirable, deep green that will be the envy of the neighborhood. Mr. Fertilizer, Don Nip will show you environmentally friendly techniques to help you achieve your goal.

Description: An overview of the history of human/honeybee interaction, why we have come to depend on the honeybee, and how we can sustainably partner with this invaluable pollinator.
Kathy Agresto
Learn the secrets of creating a restaurant-quality kitchen garden. Kathy Agresto, owner of Native Soil Gardens (www.nativesoilgardens.com), builds raised-bed culinary gardens for several popular Orange County chefs. She will discuss the challenges and rewards of producing a natural garden that stays on the cutting edge of food trends and seasonal menu planning.
Jonathan Dye
Learn recipes and techniques for bringing the bounty of your home garden to your family’s table. Demonstrations and “fresh tastes” by Williams Sonoma Chef and culinary expert Jonathan Dye will inspire your seasonal cooking.
