Description
The AARP Driver Safety Program for adults 50 and older is offered at the center on alternate months. The next session will be from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, March 14 and 15.
The two-day, eight-hour course helps participants tune up their driving skills and update their knowledge of the rules of the road. The course also teaches important defensive driving techniques.
In some states, including California, completion of the course also entitles the student to a certificate of completion, and the student may then qualify for an auto insurance discount from his or her insurer.
Fee for the class is $12 for members of the AARP, and $14 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required and may be accomplished by calling the Fullerton Community Center at (714) 738-6305, or by coming to the center, which is temporarily housed at St. Mary’s Church, 400 W. Commonwealth Ave., Room 8B, during construction of a new community center.
Persons requiring special accommodations to attend the class are asked to notify the center staff when registering.
