Fullerton Launches New Public Records Center

Technology improves communication and enhances transparency between government agencies and the public. This week, the City of Fullerton took a step to provide the community with easier access to public information by launching an online portal for public records requests.

Fullerton residents or anyone with questions related to the City of Fullerton can easily access the online portal from the city’s website to submit a new request or search similar requests that have previously been entered. The new system will improve customer experience and increase efficiency within the organization by providing requesters a user-friendly portal that is secure and automates workflow processes, notifications, and reports.

The online request portal is powered by GovQA, a leader in delivering digital solutions to public sector clients across the nation. GovQA’s Public Records Request Management software handles more Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for state and local government organizations than any other software provider of its kind.

With the new platform, requestors can:

  • Submit requests

  • Track its progress

  • Access correspondence related to the request, and

  • Download the requested records once they are available.

The public can still make requests by email or mail but the City of Fullerton is encouraging users to take advantage of the new online portal because it will reduce the amount of time a requester must wait for the request to be processed and for information to be provided.
