Southern California Edison has announced its 2012 Community Forum “Helping Our Communities Succeed and Strengthening Our Nonprofit Sector”. The Forum will be held at the Costa Mesa Community Center, 1845 Park Avenue, Costa Mesa, on Friday, June 29, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m
Like last year’s highly successful SCE forum held at the Delhi Center in Santa Ana, this year’s SCE forum is targeted at staff, board members, and volunteers from nonprofit organizations and agencies and faith-based groups in Orange County that work with low-income and underserved communities.
English-Spanish translation will again be offered and program information will be in English and Spanish.
There is much new information to share and discuss –including the new Community Grants program initiated this year by SCE’s parent company, Edison International–but this will also be a special opportunity for our SCE colleagues to listen and learn from you.
The forum will feature a participatory Capacity-Building Workshop designed with your input to assist nonprofit organizations in their operations, communications, and fundraising efforts. We are living in tough times and no sector has been more negatively impacted than the low-income and under-served communities in our region.
Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided. During the lunch period there will be networking and SCE information tables with staff that can answer questions participants may have on particular programs and services.
The California Public Utilities Commission and the American Red Cross will also have staffed information tables.
Please register online by Monday, June 25, by clicking “Here” in this flyer: 2012 June 29 Costa Mesa SCE Community Forum Brochure. A place and a name badge will be reserved for you. It only takes a minute to register online.
