Attention all cat lovers! Pro Pet Fix will be holding the O.C. Feral Fix day - an event hosted by The Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Volunteers are needed. This all-volunteer event will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2011 as part of the Alley Cat Allies national initiative called National Feral Cat Day 2011.
The goal is to spay or neuter 100 feral cats in one day from 7 AM to 7 PM. The event will be held at Pro Pet Fix spay/neuter center at 2407 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Fullerton, CA 92831.
Veterinarians, Registered Vet Technicians and many other volunteers will work in shifts to provide the best possible care for the animals. All volunteers and cats will be under the supervision of the lead Veterinarian and experienced technicians will be present in surgery to provide patient monitoring and assistance.
OCSPCA hopes to make this a regular event to spay/neuter as many feral cats as possible and to raise awareness of the feral cat issues in Orange County.
Volunteers who are available on October 16 and would like to be a part of this new cooperative event should contact OCSPCA through the event web site: www.ocferalfix.com or by email: ocspca@verizon.net to reserve a shift.
Those unable to volunteer but who still want to contribute may make a donation in any amount on the website.
Feral cat trappers are encouraged to make reservations for cats on the website, by email, or by calling OCSPCA at (714) 374-7738.
