The Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL) will host an afternoon tea to honor Frida Fluck an advocate for education.
Ms. Fluck will present the museum with heritage/historic notes from her college studies in the 1940s at UC Berkeley. These books will be part of the museum’s permanent collection.
The High Tea will be held on Saturday, June 4 2011 from 3 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. The tea will also recognize men and women volunteers and civic and community leaders who have supported MOTAL.
Women attending the High Tea are encouraged to wear hats and gloves as it was the style of the 40s which prevails in the museum’s upcoming exhibit A Class Action: Mendez et al. v. Westminster et al. and the Grassroots Struggle for Desegregation that opens at the Old County Courthouse in September 2011. Guests are also requested to bring their own tea cup and saucer for the tea sampling.
