County of Orange Health Care Agency, Behavioral Health Services Center of Excellence will be offering two, day-long seminars on Mental Health First Aid at the Fullerton Public Library. The library is located at 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., adjacent to City Hall.
These seminars will be held on both Friday, April 13 and Friday, April 20 from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
What is Mental Health First Aid?: The initial help given to a person showing symptoms of mental illness or in a mental health crisis (severe depression, psychosis, panic attack, suicidal thoughts and behaviors) until appropriate professional or other help,including peer and family support, can be engaged.
Mental Health First Aid is a highly interactive, 12-hour program taught over several days
or weeks to small groups.
