Fullerton City Hall will be closed Monday, July 4, in recognition of the Independence Day holiday. It will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 5.
The Fullerton Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., and the Hunt Branch Library, 201 S. Basque Ave., will be closed July 4. The Main Library will also be closed Sunday, July 3.
The Main Library's normal operating hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; closed Friday, 10 a.m.-5 pm. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
The Hunt Branch hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; closed Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
MG Disposal Systems, the city's trash contractor, will not make collections July 4. Pickups will run one day late: Monday’s collection will be made Tuesday; Tuesday on Wednesday; Wednesday on Thursday; Thursday on Friday; and Friday on Saturday.
The administrative offices at Fullerton Municipal Airport will be closed July 4; however, airport operations will proceed as usual, and the Air Traffic Control Tower will be open.
The community is invited to attend Fullerton's 22nd Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival on July 4:
The festival will be held from 5-9:30 p.m. at the Fullerton High School Stadium, located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Lemon Street.
Admission to the festival is free.
Entertainment for the night will be the down home sounds of guitar virtuoso Deke Dickerson and his rockabilly band “The Eccofonics.”
Games and food booths will also mark the event, which will be topped off by an aerial fireworks display set to music by Pyrospectaculars of Rialto at 9 p.m.
Other activities lined up for the evening includes pony rides, a magician, stilt-walkers, balloon artists, bounce houses, face painting, Chaz the Unicyclist and more.
A nominal fee will be charged for the children’s rides.
Free parking will be available at the Plummer Parking Structure, located at the southwest corner of Lemon and Chapman Avenue; the Wilshire Parking Structure, located on Wilshire Avenue, one block east of Harbor Boulevard; and the North Justice Center, 1275 N. Berkeley, west of Harbor.
Parking for the disabled will be available in the high school campus lots just south of the stadium. Vehicles will be allowed access to the lots only from the Chapman and Lemon intersection.
