Economic Update with Mira Farka

“Escape Velocity: Is the Economy There? Why Business Cares” will be presented by Dr. Mira Farka at a special program on Friday, November 2, at noon at the Fullerton Marriott. The presentation, sponsored by Farmers and Merchants Bank together with the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce, serves as a follow-up to the 19th Annual economic Forecast Conference presented by the Orange County Business Council. Farka will discuss trends impacting Orange County, the United States and the world economies. This annual forecast has become an annual event which provides insight and impactful information for regional businesses.
Dr. Mira Farka joined the Department of Economics at California State University, Fullerton in August 2005. Her recent work provides a unified framework for analyzing the simultaneous interactions between monetary policy and financial markets. She has published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, European Financial Managements, and Review of Financial Economics.
As research associate for the Institute of Economic and Environmental Studies at CSUF, Dr. Farka has developed national and regional models that are used to forecast economic variables for the annual Economic Forecast for the Nation, Southern California and Orange County and the Midyear Update.
