Join us on March 5 for the Series Part I: Intro to Edible Gardening. Classroom instruction and hands-on practice in our own Organic Vegetable Garden are led by gardener Jonathan Davis. The class covers low-labor lawn removal, soil amendment, planning for efficient use of space and resources, starting plants from seeds, companion planting and polyculture (e.g. growing squash, corn, and beans together in a three-sisters arrangement), and water conservative irrigation practices. Class fee includes a set of starter seeds to plant at home.
Jonathan Davis is an ethnobotanist, gardener, and passionate foodie. The class includes gardening outside; a hat and outdoor clothing are recommended.
